May 24, 2013 -- Alansink has announced plans to build a world-class rubber plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, which will be an important part of the company's leadership position in the high-performance rubber sector.
The plant is expected to produce 140,000 tons of neodymium-containing butadiene rubber (NdBR) and lithium butadiene rubber (LiBR) annually. Engineering, procurement and construction contracts for the project are scheduled to be signed in the second half of 2023, construction is expected to begin in 2024, and commercial operation is planned for 2027.
Neodymium butadiene rubber (NdBR), one of the plant's key products, offers excellent properties such as improved fuel economy, grip and tyre durability. Especially in the tread of high performance tire, it is widely used. In addition, lithium series butadiene rubber (LiBR) is mainly used for plastic modification to improve the impact resistance of products. Food packaging and household appliances are also the main applications of lithium butadiene rubber.
